Citrea Nigeria, the Nigerian community of Citrea, a Bitcoin Zk rollup that brings EVM expressivity to Bitcoin ecosystem, has taken a bold step toward deepening its engagement with Enugu State's technology leadership. In a high-level meeting with the Commissioner for Innivation, Science and Technology, Citrea Nigeria's Lead Ambassador outlined plans to contribute to the state's fast-growing digital economy, reinforcing Enugu's position as a leading tech city.
The visit comes as Enugu prepares to host the highly anticipated Coal to Code Tech Festival, a flagship initiative aimed at transforming the region's economy through digital skills and innovation. Citrea Nigeria confirmed its commitment to playing a key role in the festival, an announcement that has already generated excitement within the broader Web3 ecosystem.
As part of its long-term vision for Enugu, Citrea Nigeria also invited the Commissioner to its inaugural in-real-life event in Nigeria. The first-of-its-kind Bitcoin Smart Contract Development Workshop will be held at the Beaconsmith House, the newly established hub for blockchain innovation and Citrea's headquarters in Nigeria. The initiative underscores Citrea's mission to equip developers with the tools needed to build real-world solutions on Bitcoin.
Speaking after the meeting, Citrea Nigeria's Lead Ambassador praised the Commissioner as "a progressive and visionary leader who has been instrumental in laying the foundation for Enugu's digital transformation."
