NSUKKA, NIGERIA — At the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) LAWSA Week 2026 Career Day, Engr. Nzube Ndiokwelu of The Beaconsmith Collective spoke on “Building Igwe Bu in Code: AI, Trust and the Future of Community.”
The conversation looked at artificial intelligence through more than a technical lens. It considered how AI is changing trust in institutions, how communities organise and who gets to shape the systems people increasingly rely on.
AI, trust and community life
Ndiokwelu said he would draw on examples from work being built in Enugu. The framing connects the practical question of how people use AI with broader questions about accountability, institutions and community agency.
For students preparing to work across law, technology and public life, those questions are already relevant. AI tools can influence how information is produced and decisions are made; understanding their limits and the institutions around them is part of using them responsibly.
Building from Enugu
The talk reflects The Beaconsmith Collective’s work at the intersection of applied AI, creative technology and community-building. Its focus is on making emerging tools useful in real settings while keeping people and local context central.
